The goal: Raise $100,000 for Civic Ventures to give as a Purpose Prize.
Each year "the Purpose Prize® provides five awards of $100,000 each to people over 60 who are taking on society’s biggest challenges. It’s for those with the passion and experience to discover new opportunities, create new programs, and make lasting change."
The plan:
Personally contribute $50 each time someone joins Send Out Cards under my sponsorship.
Invite others to get involved by making contributions....
The challenge: How to structure this without having to create a non-profit organization and apply for 50 (c)(3) status so your donations (and mine) will be tax-exempt... a lengthy and costly process.
